CAMARONES BORRACHOS - Negra modelo beer batter shrimp, chipotle-tamarind sauce, jicama-cabbage slaw, cilantro aioli, micro cilantro. $10

MEJILLONES - Steam mussels, cilantro, red onion, garlic, shallots, smoke bacon, juajillo-tomato broth, grilled baguette, micro cilantro. $12

    Chef Hector Ruiz nails it with his restaurant in Kingfield A few titles immediately spring to mind when we talk about trilogies: Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings, that Magnetic Fields concept album. There are a great many trilogies in film, literature, and music, but restaurant trilogies? Those are harder to come by.

  • First look: La Fresca

    For Hector Ruiz, life in South Minneapolis is Grand. The chef is owner of three restaurants -- Cafe Ena, Rincon 38, and now, La Fresca -- all located on Grand Avenue, all within blocks of each other. His latest venture opened last weekend, promising nuevo Mexican cuisine, and we stopped by for a first bite.
